The ALA staff will utilize the TEAM (Trimesters, Equity, Access and Mentorship) approach to provide students avenues to recoup lost credit, build empathy and positive self-esteem while empowering and inspiring students to excel academically and socially to be productive citizens, future leaders and life-long learners. Our goal for ALA is to meet the exceptional needs of alternative students in the Flint Community. We are excited to provide unique opportunities utilizing the TEAM framework for learning and support-- Trimesters, Equity, Access and Mentoring. This framework is an intentional design developed by staff and building administrators, central administrators and staff, parent and student input, and data-driven conversations to address student gaps in social emotional well-being, academic proficiency, and credit recovery while utilizing trauma-informed approaches for the success of all our students.
